There is no doubt that 2020-2021 has been tiring and stressful for every person around the world, but let’s take a closer look at the case in Lebanon. The Lebanese people have been suffering immeasurably on all levels. We can start by addressing the consequences of corruption done by the political class, whether it is the loss of 85% of our currency’s value or high unemployment rate, shifting from 11% in 2019 to over 40% in 2021, in addition to a 100% increase in the inflation rate. Moreover, in summer 2020 August the 4th, our Beirut has witnessed an explosion that is considered the biggest non-nuclear explosion in the 21st century, resulting in hundreds of deaths and thousands of homeless people. Can you imagine the amount of pain and suffering the Lebanese people went through amidst the immersion of COVID-19. The list continues but allows us to share with you the other side of the story. The story of hope that we envision for this part of the world. We believe that the lack of the spread of the Gospel and the absence of psychological intervention can lead to a huge shift in the quality of living. Imagine this, we live in a place where God is the greatest judge of all that is waiting for us to sin so he could pour his anger on us, we live in a place where a child is blamed for getting abused,

we live in a place where anger and hate are fine to be witnessed on the streets while expression of love is condemned and judged. For those details, we want to spread the Good News, for those reasons we want psychology to immerse.  From the heart of believers and the need of people, Providence has been established. Providence aims to support psychologically the families New Nation is working with, whether people who have been affected by the Beirut Blast, ex-convicts, drug addicts, children with special needs, etc… We will be forming a network with different organizations that hold the same mission i.e. help and aid the vulnerable. At Providence, we intend to provide psychotherapy, counseling, and support for any member of any family and help them move forward in life. We find Providence essential because it will be part of a holistic approach, while other departments are taking care of the physical wellbeing, education, sports, etc.… we will be offering the psychological part. When Jesus came to this world to die on our behalf, he didn’t just forgive our sins, he also gave us his righteousness, or in other words, he gave us the whole package, and that is what we intend to do.
